Understanding Carbohydrates & Sugars
The American Heart Association's recommended level of saturated fat
is 8-10 percent of total calories. Reducing the intake of saturated
fat to this level often requires a modest increase in carbohydrates.
When the proportion of calories from saturated fat in the diet
is reduced, carbohydrates can make up some of the caloric difference.
